I am a regular customer of Wild Pig Comics II in Kenilworth NJ. The first time I had ever been to Wild Pig was the day of their first HUGE SALE. I went down with my friends Erik and Kent and went nuts with the spending of money I really didn't have. Because when I say this is a HUGE SALE, I mean . . .

IT. IS. HUGE.

I arrived at 11:00am, a little early for the start of the SALE and the challenge and it was raining pretty hard. People were already showing up and trying to make a line, but the rain really made that difficult.

Now I had come to the sale for two reasons. The first was to cover the sale, but I also had a very specific statue that I have been wanting and just got the money together for it. As soon as the doors opened I went right to the counter and told Chris that I wanted the Deadpool statue, paid for it and went to the back of the store where the artists were setting up camp. Right from the start of the sale there were at least 20 people that poured in behind me. It quickly became crowded.

So with the buzz of the sale going on in the front of the store, the artists that are participating in the daunting 24 Hour Comic Challenge are setting up their supplies and getting ready for their hands to disintergrate.

At this point I would like to introduce to you the competitors:

Bill

>

Bill is the artist on the webcomic The Silver Rage and formerly of Nowhere Fast. Both are about employees of comic book stores and poke fun at the culture within comics. You might even recognize some of the chracters in Nowhere Fast.

Janna

Janna is currently a student at UNKNOWN UNIVERSITY going for a degree in SOMETHING. She is also working with Jamie on a comic book called SOMETHING.

Danielle

Danielle is the entire creative force behind Girls With Slingshots, a wonderful webcomic about Hazel and her friends. You can also check out more of her work here.

Jamie

Also known as The Reverand James "The Voice" Hatton he is the writer for The Silver Rage and the soul behind the wacky adventures of GOD in the webcomic In HIs Likeness

The official start of the event is 12:10 pm to allow for everyone to get set up and also manage the noise levels within the store. All four artists got to work immediately.

Then at 12:45, the first official "smoke break" of the event was taken by Bill.

As this smoke break is taking place there is an accident in front of the store that ties up traffic on Michigan Ave for a bit (which also allows for better visibility of the store since people were slowed for a short time.)

As 2 o'clock comes around the store has hit a steady pace of people coming in and out and we have the chance to meet the people manning this sale.

Ryan and Chris

Dan

Laura

I was asked to omit all pictures Dani, but we at Perfect COndition would like to thank Chris Ryan DAan Laura and Dani for such a great event and I applaud them for all of the hard work they did.

As the day went on, we had a few things happen. The table gave birth to Danielle

The police came for Jamie.

Ok, it was just Officer White, but we never know with Jamie.

Jamie ran off with Chris' lunch and returned it missing some chips

Snacks started to appear on the tables.

More Smoke Breaks were taken.

Friends show up to show support.

More pranks are played on Chris.

And Jamie got a special visit from a certain Friendly Neighbor.

Alas the fun and games came to a halt because Jamie started having severe back pain, Bill and Danielle ran out of steam as the night progressed. Janna continued all the way through to 8 am, but she also felt the need to stop and watch cartoons with the rest of us. I did get to watch the sun rise outside.

So fun and agony were had by all and unfortunately not a full 24 Hour Comic. But the experience of watching and participating in the event is well worth it and I encourage everyone to seek out their local Comic Book Store that is sponsoring the official event and stop in and show support to those involved.

This is Diabolik signing off for this Perfect Condition report.

Everyone have a Perfect Day!
